With desktop backgrounds being one of the most viewed pictures in our daily routines, I wanted to create a collage showing off my school pride! Wallpaper collages are super easy to make, so I thought I would show you how to make your own. I have included the steps on how to make yourself a super cute desktop wallpaper for your laptop.
I went ahead and made collages for a few colleges in Michigan! Leave a comment below with what other schools, college or not, you would like to see made into a collage. I might be able to make it happen for you!
HOW TO DOWNLOAD:
Click on the image or go to my Pinterest and find the image you want to save. Click the three dots to the right of the image and download.
STEP 1: FIND YOUR FAVORITE IMAGES
Find pictures for your collage! Redbubble has the cutest college stickers so I took screenshots of images from their site. I also found pictures from Pinterest and by a simple Google search! I downloaded about ten photos, and ended up using around eight. Be creative and use as many or as little images as you would like.
Screenshot shortcuts
MAC - hold down Command, Shift, 4 at the same time
PC - use the “Snipping Tool” available in the search bar
STEP 2: MAKE IMAGE BACKGROUND TRANSPARENT
Upload your images to https://www.remove.bg/ and re-download them with transparent backgrounds. This will get rid of the unnecessary white space around your images. If you want to change the color of your background in your collage, or even if your screenshot is not matching whites with your background, this is a crucial step!
STEP 3: PUT IMAGES INTO YOUR COLLAGE
Go to www.canva.com to create your collage! If this is your first time using Canva, you will never go back. I use Canva to create any and all graphics that I make. Search “Desktop Backgrounds” and it will bring you to a blank page with the perfect dimensions for a desktop wallpaper. Upload your images and start putting your pictures into the black page!
STEP 4: CREATE YOUR WALLPAPER
It's easiest to start with your center image and add images around it. For mine, I chose my center picture to be the name of my university. From there, add your other images, resize, and play around until you get everything where you like!
CANVA TIP: Canva just released new neon graphics and lettering - and I am loving them. Search “neon” under elements for cute neon lightning bolts, sparkles, smiley faces, and more. To add text, scroll through available options and choose your favorite to add. I added “East Lansing” with the destination graphic next to it, and “Go green, go white” to my collage!
Enjoy creating the cutest collages! I love how personal these can be. There are endless ideas of collages to make, so play around by adding images of you and your friends, or make a wallpaper with your aesthetic. Leave a comment with other schools or types of collages you want to see!
